I Used to be Smart. Really. I Swear.
LA Daddy | March 22
When I was growing up, I really loved my mom but… I didn’t think she was sharpest knife in the drawer. The older I got, the more I realized that a lot of the moms and dads around me were a little goofy. I thought there was something in the water — so I stopped drinking it.
But now that I’ve got an almost-three-year-old daughter, I’ve finally come to the realization that having children sucks the brain power out of your head. Over the past three years, I’ve been forced to worry non-stop!
When it’s just you, you don’t worry as much. When you’ve got a tiny little terrorist trying to stick her finger in light sockets, trying to run full speed toward busy streets, and constantly trying to watch Barney… it’s gonna be the death of you!
All that fear, all that worrying, all that Elmo laughter you hear in your sleep? It doesn’t just make you crazy… it makes you stupid.
I’m not sure what futuristic entertainment device I will have, but I’m reasonably certain that when I’m old and gray, I’ll have to call up my daughter to have her come over to make that device stop flashing 12:00.

That was too funny…and yes…your right…as a single woman I was so smart….as a mother…I’m so absent minded and for my husband he’s lucky…I use to be able to argue with the best of them…all that arguing with a 3 year-old has zapped all memory and energy away from arguing with her daddy!!
This is so true! I think I lost a few brain cells the day my son was conceived. :)
[…] I’ve got my first post up on The Blogfathers site! Go check it out if you get a chance. And, remember - there’s a double your money back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied. […]
Keep your money. Good post, and sadly very true. I is still not real dum yet.
Great first post. But the theory doesn’t work for me…I went stupid way before I was a Dad.
I’m with Darren — I was pretty much an idiot before I had a kid. I just didn’t know it.
Now, there’s pretty much no doubt.
Good to know it’s not just me …
Finally eh..it took you three years hehe.
Been reading Blogfathers for a little while, thought it time to post a reply…you are all pretty sharpe in my book ;)
Watching Barney has been proven to lower one’s IQ by 30%.
