Cosa Nostra
Child's Play x2 | February 14A year ago today, 13 Daddy bloggers met on the North Side of the Blogosphere. Our purpose? To join a larger Family and to dispense witty, insightful posts about fatherhood while breaking down old stereotypes of fatherhood while paying tribute to the 21st century dad. We would contribute regularly. We would amuse you. We would be like no daddy blogging site before or since.
Well, it was a nice thought.
Truth be told, we’ve evolved quite a bit over the past year. Most of us were honored to be included in this project. Little did we know that this posting on a blog outside of our own blogs would be hard work. We needed reinforcements. So, we invited some gifted and talented daddy bloggers to be Capos. While they were supposed to be temporary - kinda like Lindsay Lohan’s fame - we liked them so much that they became part of The Family.
And now, after one year under our belts, we’re looking for a few good men. We are opening up the comments for nominations of your favorite Daddy Bloggers who aren’t a part of that Other Blog and who you would enjoy reading here at The Blogfathers. Oh, and while you’re at it, nominate some Goomahs too as we seem to be lagging in our female guest blogging duties.
So, nominate your potential Capos and Goomahs now and look for a new and improved Blogfathers in the coming months.
Capice?

baby daddy’s “Don’t listen to the Black Eyed Peas” should be enough make him a Capo.
Here here! babydaddy get’s my vote too! He’s tastey!
What abuout Whit from Honea Express, Kemp, Chag, Lance from Dad2Twins or Rob from How About Two? (not that he’ll have time once those twins come along).
I can only assume that Steve is going to be made.
You know I read more Daddy blogs than most Daddys. You could have just e-mailed me. (Even though you took my money.)
Am I allowed to nominate myself? Hey I can start from the bottom. I can serve you drinks and you can call me Spider…
Check out Digital Father (who failed to nominate himself above)… http://digitalfather.wordpress.com. He’d be a great addition to the “family.”
Yeah, what Sarah said. Those guys are great.
It’s been said already, more than once, buuuuttt… babydaddy. And I just checked out Digital Father’s link, and will throw in a vote there, too.
Oh, yeah, and Chag (cynical dad)
How about…

(Will stop flinging urls at you. Just trying to help.)
i want to be a goomah…goombah? whatever the hell it is, i can do it! also, my smart-ass smarty pants husband is a brilliant blogger. he just doesn’t know it yet. anyway, i nominate him…and me. ;)
I would love to get in on this, and I’ve been to Rao’s so I should fit right in. Drop me a line and we can have a sit-down, unless it’s Sunday afternoon and I’m making gravy. Have to keep my priorities in order.
Can I nominate myself? I’ve been blogging since June. On and off. When I get a chance.
Thanks.

Too many daddy blogs for contention in my noggin’ right now, but Oh, The Joys gets my vote for your next Goomah. Go read, go, go!!! (see February 13th post) Ciao!
I second HBM’s vote for William at Poop and Boogies. He can be extraordinarily wry. Love him.
Well, hell, I might as well nominate myself. Looky, Daddy!
I would like to suggest

And there is a nother Jay from Signal to noise. I am not sure of the URL.
Sorry, Sarah - Whit writes for “that other blog”.
Well if you’re looking for a slightly different perspective - I’ve been writing about my boy since May last year when he contracted meningitis and our progress since… Interested?
I’ve recently found Rob at http://belovedmonsterandme.blogspot.com/ and find his writing pretty amazing.
Yes, I write for “them”, those sneaky bastards.
Thanks though, it’s an honor just to be nominated.
I like Jonathon from Flailing My Arms http://flailingmyarms.blogspot.com/
, even though he refuses to put me on his blogroll, and Travis, a.k.a, The Holmes http://the-holmes.blogspot.com/.
I think you need a Grandmother.
While I’m decidedly late to the Goomba-punchbowl with this question (and equally New-New-New-New-Sopranos-tacky for offering a self-nomination in the process) but what the diaper, life is short and my kid needs mushy peas soon.
Actually, I’m not nominating myself, but using it as a cheap excuse to say how much I’ve appreciated The Blogfathers network (and many within its ranks) for helping this new first-time dad (Beckett is 6.5 months old now and we’re finally sleeping through the night; fingers painfully crossed). Started the “Beckett-to-Be” blog (http://thinklab.typepad.com/becketttobe/) as a easy way to keep grandparents who live far away virtually connected to the wee lad as he gains momentum.
Keep up the great work! A hell of a cadre of writers in your Capo den, to say the least.
Cheers,
Beckett’s dad (Christian)
Yeah it would be kind of hard to find a grandmother who writes on blogs though. That would be neat to see things from her perspective.
