For Your Traveling With Or Without Kids - Airport Wireless Guide
AdventureDad | September 21
This is not mainly for family and kids but it might be useful to some. I’m addicted to Internet and like to be connected wherever I am. That’s why I love Wi-fi so much. I was a relatively early user, started around year 2000, and have used it extensively around the world since then. The laptop is with my on all trips since I use Skype, video-chat so my family can see the kids, download photos from our digital cameras, and use it to read news and keep in touch with everyone. Open Wi-fi spots are usually easy to find all over the world but airports can be trickier. I recently found this excellent guide over what applies at most U.S. Airports and thought it might be helpful to people who travel. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a business trip or have the whole family with you, airports are incredibly boring. And Internet might be a good way to kill a few hours. I wish Wi-fi was free at every airport but that’s unfortunately not the case. Perhaps in the future?
Edit: If you travel often with your kids you might want to check out SeatGuru as well. It offers the seat configuration, amenities, and lots of extra information of most airlines and their aircrafts. To me this has been invaluable many times. Our son is a great traveler and logged more than 25 flights before two years of age. But we always prepare ahead of time and get the seats we want to make the trip easier for him. It makes a huge difference if you can pick the “good seats” when you purchase the tickets. Preferences vary depending on parents but a few factors are leg space, bulkhead seats, near to bathrooms, near exit, aisle or window seats and near front/rear of plane. Personally we always go for bulkhead seats near the aisle so we have plenty of leg space and after we take off he can sleep on the floor (if we think it’s safe) or in our seats.
Have a nice weekend
