what passes for humor in our house
Woodge | February 27We recently had a little 4th birthday party for Luke at our house. He’s still at the age where some of the simplest things are hilarious. For instance we had some balloons on hand and I would blow them up and let them go flying about the room while Luke laughed hysterically and chased them down. I think I got away with only doing this 37 times. Then when three of his friends were over, I was doing it for them and they were all digging it. Then when I pretended to poop a balloon and let it go, they thought this was the funniest thing ever and immediately they all had to do this too. Meanwhile the mothers were looking at me in horror over my despicable taste in toilet humor. But they were probably more traumatized when they realized I let the kids play with Silly String. (When they were shooting Silly String everywhere, my wife described the wild look in their eyes as “I can’t believe we’re allowed to Do this!”) Of course the Silly String eventually had to be taken outdoors (brrr) and naturally I did the Ah-ahhh-ahhhhh-CHOO! bit with Silly String and called it pink/yellow boogers. Boy, I tell ya, poop and boogers are comedy gold.
