In Praise of Boobah

More Diapers | February 15

Those familiar with my ongoing battle with modern fatherhood may remember my rather defamatory blog post on Boobah a while back (shameless link to my personal blog). I take it back. All of it.

Well, most of it. They do kinda look like penises. Which, you know, is weird. But they sure as hell entertain the little boy. And that I need. Badly.

Yes, the move to a new city has brought with it some big changes. The biggest of which is Jen leaving at 6 AM for work and me taking Hayes to daycare (his first forray into the daycare world, I might add) at around 8ish and then heading to work myself.

The new program leaves little time for me to get all gusied up and ready for work. And, as any self-respecting guy knows, there are some things that you need to do before heading off to work. Shower, I’m thinking of you.

In comes Boobah, those weird colored PBS creations. Hayes loves them and their crazy-ass music. As a result, I get time for that shower… and even the occasional shave and sh… is this a family blog?

Anyway, I take it back. Boobah, thank you giving me morning time. I love you. There… I said it.

4 beefs about In Praise of Boobah

  1. […] As part of my ongoing effort to whore myself out, I’ve joined a band of mafia themed dads. Today I even posted. Check it out: In Praise of Boobah. Filed under: Deep Thoughts — Eric Sagalyn @ 1:09 pm […]

  2. If Boobah is working for you I say go with it. Those things are still strange. I had the same feelings about Teletubbies before I had kids. I used to wonder what kind of subliminal messages they were planting in children’s minds. Having now watched a few hundred episodes myself I have realized that Tinky Winky should be elected to office, and that they mean no harm.

  3. Boobahs can be scary. Especially when you have the dolls and you hear one going off about 3 in the morning. Reminds me of the South Park episode about the chinpokomon. Glad something works for you!

  4. Hey this site is a good read, DDude! Thanks for the info.

I am not familiar with Boobah myself, but if they are anything similar to the TellTubbies, oh no no no no.
