Low-budget love token
Laid Off Dad | February 14I heard on NPR this morningĀ that the average man spends $135 on presents on Valentine’s Day. I, however, like to express my love and devotion more intrinsically, because 1) I am a tremendously creative soul and 2) we don’t have room forĀ any more stuff.
In the spirit of this auspicious day, I’d like to share with you the poem I wrote for my wife before I left for work this morning:
“You’re the gas in my engine
The cogs in my watch
The heat in my oven
The schwing in my crotch.”
Thanks for everything, sweetie. I couldn’t be a blogfather without you.

Ha ha! I was a bit skeptical at first… not being dad and all I was feeling a little bit excluded and so I planned on hating on this first post - and then it ended up being really funny - especially the last line of that poem. Awesome!
You know, you’re making me think this whole fatherhood thing might finally turn a profit.
Ahhhhahahahahah! See, my Evil Genius Husband is not quite this creative. What a touching gesture! Your wife is a lucky lady. Or crazy. One of those two.
hahaha - awesome.
Now that represents true love. Thought provoking and touching. Beats the crap out of a bunch of flowers.
